Whole Grain Oat Waffles

Hearty whole-grain waffles made with oats, coconut, and flax seeds, blended into a smooth batter and perfect with berries and coconut cream.

Yield: 8–10 waffles | Prep: 10 min | Cook: 15 min | Total: 25 min

Ingredients

  • 7 dl (3 cups) water
  • 5 dl (2 cups) whole-grain rolled oats
  • 1 dl (⅖ cup) whole-grain spelt flour
  • 1 dl (⅖ cup) coconut flakes
  • 2 tbsp flax seeds
  • 1 tsp honey
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Add all the ingredients to a blender.
  2. Blend until a smooth batter forms.
  3. Preheat the waffle maker according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  4. Pour the batter into the waffle maker and cook until golden and set, about 3–5 minutes per waffle.
  5. Repeat with the remaining batter.

Serving

  1. Serve warm.
  2. Top with berries and coconut cream.

Tips & Variations

  • Adjust the water to 5–6 dl (2–2½ cups) if using softer oats.
  • Add ground cardamom or ground ginger for extra flavor.
  • Let the batter rest for a few minutes if a thicker texture is desired.
