Ingredients
Base
- 2 dl (¾ cup) sunflower seeds
- 4 dl (1¾ cups) water
- 2 tsp salt
- ½ tsp dried thyme
- ½ tsp dried oregano
- 1½ tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp bell pepper powder
- 2 tsp agar agar
Instructions
- Blend the sunflower seeds and water until completely smooth.
- Pour the mixture into a saucepan and add the salt and seasonings.
- Stir well with a whisk until fully combined.
- Bring to a boil, then continue whisking as the mixture thickens. (Use a lid to protect yourself from bubbling.)
- Pour the mixture into 2.5 dl (1 cup) drinking glasses (or any similar cylindrical containers).
- Let it cool and set completely before removing.
- Once set, insert a thin knife at the edge to release the sausage.
- Slice and enjoy!
Tips & Variations
- For square shapes, use a square container instead of a glass.
- To speed up cooling, place the glasses in a bowl of very cold water for 5 minutes. Replace the water with fresh cold water and chill for another 5 minutes. Once the glasses feel cold to the touch, remove the sausage following the instructions above.
