Carob Squares
A chewy, naturally sweet bar made with carob, tahini, honey, and whole-grain oats — perfect for desert.

Ingredients
- 1.5 dl (⅔ cup) carob powder
- 1.5 dl (⅔ cup) water
- 1.5 dl (⅔ cup) honey
- 0.5 dl (3 tbsp) tahini
- 8 dl (3 ½ cups) whole-grain soft oats
- A pinch of salt
- Coconut flakes, for sprinkling
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the carob powder, water, honey, tahini, oats, and salt. Mix well to form a sticky dough.
- Prepare a baking pan approximately 18x27 cm (7x10.5 in) by sprinkling a thin layer of coconut flakes on the bottom.
- Press the dough evenly into the pan, smoothing the surface with a spatula or hands.
- Sprinkle additional coconut flakes on top and press gently to set.
- Using a knife, score the dough into 5 rows along the wide side and 4 rows along the short side to create bars.
- Store the bars in the freezer. Remove before serving.
Tips & Variations
- Serve slightly chilled for a firmer texture or at room temperature for chewier bars.
